Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP)

Enhancing Your Dental Health with Marinaside Dental

At Marinaside Dental, we believe that oral health is vital to your overall well-being, and we're here to help you prioritize it. With conditions like cardiovascular disease linked to dental health, proper oral care is essential. However, for many Canadians, the cost of dental care can be challenging. The Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) now offers a solution for those facing financial barriers, helping seniors and families access the care they need.

What is the Canada Dental Care Plan?

Announced in 2023, the Canada Dental Care Plan (CDCP) is a government initiative designed to make essential dental treatments accessible and affordable for Canadians who might otherwise face barriers due to cost. This plan is ideal for those without dental insurance who fall within a specific income range, offering full or partial coverage to make dental care accessible to all.

Who is Eligible for CDCP Coverage?

Eligibility includes:

  • Income Requirement: Family income below $90,000 qualifies, with 100% coverage for incomes under $70,000 and partial coverage up to $90,000.
  • No Dental Insurance Access: The CDCP covers individuals without other dental insurance through employment, student organizations, or pension benefits.
  • Residency: Canadian residents who filed taxes in the prior year are eligible.

Covered Services Under CDCP

Beneficiaries of the CDCP can access:

  • Preventive Care: Exams, cleaning, fluoride treatments, and X-rays.
  • Basic Treatments: Fillings, extractions, and pain management.
  • Emergency and Specialized Services: Root canals, gum disease treatment, and oral surgery.
  • Sedation Services: General anesthesia and conscious sedation.

How Much is Covered?

Coverage levels depend on income:

  • Income below $70,000: Full coverage.
  • Income $70,000 - $79,999: 60% covered, 40% by the patient.
  • Income $80,000 - $89,999: 40% covered, 60% by the patient.

Additional costs may apply if procedures exceed CDCP fees or for services not covered by the plan.
